EXPEDITION OVERVIEW

This tour is an absolute gem for wildlife lovers because it combines the very remote and unspoiled South West wildlife reserves of Tanzania. You will experience some of the most iconic wildlife sanctuaries, including the Ruaha National Park (one of the largest national parks in Tanzania), the Katavi National Park (renowned for its large herds of buffalo, elephants, crocodiles, and hippos), and the Mahale Mountains National Park (home to one of the largest populations of wild chimpanzees in the world). We will introduce you to the collection of the remote and least visited national parks in Tanzania, with its remote location and limited infrastructure helping to preserve its pristine landscape and wildlife.

Be ready to pass through the rocky hills, gorges, the Great Ruaha River, the raw beauty of the African savannah, rugged mountains, dense forests, and crystal-clear waters of Lake Tanganyika, and see some of the rare species of animals and birds.

One of the highlights of this tour is engaging with the Ruaha research station for the opportunity of observing the wildlife conservation research project and developing a deeper understanding of the work being performed in the area. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity that is not accessible to everyone in Tanzania.

Mattias Klum, your tour leader, will guide you through the technical aspects of photography, as well as help you to develop your artistic skills. During the trip, he will give a number of lectures and you will learn how to use light, composition, and timing to capture striking images that truly show the essence of the African wilderness. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced photographer, this tour will provide you with a unique opportunity to enhance your skills and expand your portfolio.
