EXPEDITION OVERVIEW

This tour will take you deep into the Serengeti to witness the Great Migration of Wildebeest in the Northern part of the park. During the month of June through October, the migration takes on one of its most spectacular advances: the river crossings in the Mbalageti and Grumeti rivers, and the most famous crossing in the Mara river. The River crossing is one of the most sought-after events of the migration and usually coincides with the peak safari season. Thousands of wildebeest and zebras gather at the Mara River, waiting to cross, and when the action starts, many adults and calves are lost to crocodile and lion attacks.

In addition to the above, the trip includes a visit to Tarangire National Park, one of the most underrated parks in Tanzania, where the landscape is unparalleled with the numerous magnificent baobabs, impressive ridges and rock formations. The main attraction of this beautiful park is the unrivaled number of elephants. It is not unusual to see about a hundred elephants in one view, and to cross up to 500 elephants in a few hours! In addition, you will find an enormous diversity of savannah animals in this park, which in the dry season can compete in numbers with the densities in the Serengeti!

The route is designed to offer you the incredible experience of the African bush during this special season. Throughout your stay, you will be accommodated in a selection of comfortable classic safari camps away from the crowds, which will give you the opportunity for an intimate connection with nature.

Our professional expert guide will take care of you on every step of your journey and will make sure you will have a once-in-a-lifetime experience with long-lasting memories and beautiful images.

This trip will suit wildlife enthusiasts wanting to experience off-the-beaten-track roads and the ones who like traveling comfortably and at a slow pace.

Our driver will be waiting for you at the airport to transfer you to your lodge in Arusha before your safari begins the following day. Upon arrival at the lodge, a member of our team will meet you for a briefing and Q&A relating to your safari.

Transfer to Serengeti National Park. By air in Lux option by land Mid-Range.

In the Northern Region, the landscape is very scenic and consists of hills, riverine forests and plains. There is the famous Mara River, which provides the setting for the fantastic river crossing event - the Mara river crossing by the giant herds of wildebeest, providing an ultimate great migration experience.
The Northern part of the Serengeti is famous for its cheetahs, the gracious big cats of Africa.
During the Great Migration and the Mara River crossing, you can witness the most fascinating wildlife spectacle: over two million wildebeests along with thousands of zebras, Thomson’s gazelles, impalas and kudus make their attempt to cross the Mara River in search of grazing and water. During this time the Nile Crocodiles and Hippos try to hunt the multitude of animals making it a challenge for the migrants to reach the opposite shore.

Morning or afternoon air transfer from Kogatende Airstrip to Manyara Airstrip in Luxury category.
Drive to Tarangire National Park and check-in your camp. Enjoy your dinner and sundowner.
Overland transfer in Mid-Range category.

Tarangire is truly one of the best parks in Tanzania. The dry season (June to October) is the most exciting month for wildlife viewing when the animals gather at water points around the park making it easy to spot them. During your safari in the park, you may see the large herds of elephants, some giraffes, buffalos, dik-diks, zebras, and of course the big cats! The scenery in Tarangire consists of acacia woodland, baobab trees, and savannah grassland.

Overland transfer from Tarangire National Park to Arusha. Check into your lodge for dinner and rest.
